This Midnight Enchanting leveling guide will show you the fastest and easiest way to level your Midnight Enchanting skill from 1 to 100.
Enchanting can be paired with any profession since it doesn't require a gathering profession to support it. Pairing it with Herbalism, Mining, or Skinning can be a good way to earn extra gold. Tailoring is also a popular choice because it does not require a gathering profession either.

Enchanting Trainer
To learn Midnight Enchanting, visit Dolothos in Silvermoon City. He is the Enchanting trainer for the Midnight expansion. You can find the Enchanting Supply vendor Lyna right next to him where you can buy Enchanting Vellum, Refulgent Copper Rods, and other supplies.
Shopping List (1-62)
These are the approximate materials you will need to get from 1 to 62. I didn't include 62-100 because there are too many variables at that point. It depends on which recipes you have, AH prices, and your spec choices.
You will get some Eversinging Dust back from disenchanting the Runed Rods, so the actual amount may be lower. Some steps use yellow recipes, so you might need a few extra crafts.
- ~412x
Eversinging Dust - 27x
Radiant Shard - 6x
Mote of Light
Leveling Midnight Enchanting
Racials
Blood Elf characters have +5 Enchanting skill and Kul Tirans have +2 Enchanting skill from their racial traits.
Any extra Enchanting skill means recipes stay orange longer. You can save some gold by squeezing a few more points out of lower-level recipes.
Enchanting Vellum
You should put all enchants on an
Enchanting Vellum and try selling them at the Auction House.
When making the enchants, you can choose the Vellum as the "Optional Target" in your profession window, so you don't have to click the vellum each time manually. You can buy them from the Enchanting Supply Vendors.
Disenchanting
If you have any leftover gear from questing, dungeons, world quests, etc., disenchant them before you start leveling as disenchanting can give you skill points up to 25.
You can use a simple macro to quickly disenchant items without opening your profession window. Just put the macro on your action bar, then hover over an item in your bags and press the keybind:
/cast Disenchant
/use Refulgent Copper Rod
Replace the item name with whatever gear you want to disenchant. You can Shift-click an item in your bags while editing the macro to auto-paste its name.
First Craft Bonus
You will receive 1x Midnight Enchanting Knowledge point each time you craft something for the first time. Midnight Enchanting Knowledge is valuable and has a weekly cap from other sources. So instead of leveling Enchanting first and then returning to craft grey recipes, this leveling guide is designed to get the "First Craft Bonus" from most enchants while they still provide skill points.
1 - 25
30x
Runed Refulgent Copper Rod - 30x Refulgent Copper Rod, 150x Eversinging Dust
You can buy the
Refulgent Copper Rod from the Enchanting Supply vendor near your trainer, Lyna.
Disenchant the 30 crafted rods for skill points up to 25. You will get around half of your Eversinging Dust back.
Craft one
Enchant Helm - Rune of Avoidance or
Thalassian Phoenix Oil if you were unlucky with the skill gains and did not get to 25. You can craft both if you are at like 23, you will craft these anyway at some point for the First Craft Bonus.
Enchanting Specializations
When you hit 25, you will unlock Enchanting specializations. Don't worry about picking one right away. Just keep leveling to around 60 first.
You'll unlock three specializations by 60 and the fourth at 75, so by the time it matters you'll have most of them available. What actually matters is how you spend your Knowledge Points. Check out my specialization guide for builds and point allocation.

Enchant Shoulders - Thalassian Recovery - 15x Eversinging Dust, 3x Radiant Shard
Gleeful Glamours (+24 Knowledge Points)
Gleeful Glamours are taught by a different trainer, so this is a good time to stop and craft all of them for the First Craft bonus. I didn't use them earlier in the guide because the 1-55 path is already cheap and you get most of your dust back from disenchanting. Flying back and forth between trainers for a few extra skill points isn't worth the hassle.
You can learn all Gleeful Glamours from Jennara Sunglow in Silvermoon City. If you are facing the Enchanting trainer, just turn around and fly up to the tower behind you. She is on the second floor.
Total materials for all 24 Gleeful Glamours:
- 48x
Eversinging Dust - 10x
Mote of Wild Magic - 8x
Mote of Primal Energy - 4x
Mote of Light - 2x
Mote of Pure Void
55 - 62
9x
Enchant Ring - Amani Mastery - 45x Eversinging Dust
These will be yellow, so you might have to craft more.
Enchant Ring - Amani Mastery give skill points up to 70, so if you want to level fast and don't really care about not being able to sell the enchants, you can just craft these until 70.
62 - 80
You have multiple options for this part depending on which recipes are available to you. If you haven't picked your specializations yet, now is a good time to do so.
Midnight Enchanting Specialization Guide & Best Builds
I think it's best to craft at least 1 from each recipe you have, and then try to sell them and craft more of whichever sells the best. This way you can usually at least get your crafting cost back, compared to spamming just one recipe that is much harder to sell.
Once the expansion progresses a bit, there will probably be a clear cheapest option to spam craft, but for now I would recommend just crafting a mix of enchants and selling them at the AH to see which one sells best.
Enchant Weapon - Worldsoul Aegis stays orange all the way up to 100, so if you cannot get any of the other options, you can just craft this one until 100.

Rings will be yellow from this point, so unless you can sell them for profit, I would stop crafting them just for leveling. The chests are only good up to 85, but helm, weapon, and shoulder enchants remain orange until 90.
90 - 100
For the last 10 points, only weapon enchants remain orange. Fortunately, one of them is from the trainer, so you can always craft it for leveling.
